Who we are

bookkalkan.com is run by Matt & Co Property, trading as Book Kalkan, Hasan Altan Cd No 4, 07960 Kalkan, Kaş, Antalya, Türkiye. We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this site. Questions about it go to info@bookkalkan.com.

What we collect

When you book: the lead guest's name, email address and phone number, the number of adults and children, your dates, the villa, any extras you choose and anything you write in the notes. We never see or store your card details — card payments are taken on Stripe's own secure checkout page.

When you enquire: the name, email, phone number and message you send through the contact form, WhatsApp or email, and which villa page you asked from.

When you browse: we count page views of villas and articles to see which are popular. That count stores no IP address, no cookie and nothing that identifies you. Our web host keeps standard server logs for security.

Why we use it

To take and manage your booking (our contract with you), to send your confirmation, payment reminders and arrival information, to answer your questions, to meet Turkish law (guests must be registered with the authorities on arrival, and we keep accounting records), and to keep the site secure. We don't sell your details and we don't send marketing unless you ask us to.

Who else handles it

Only what's needed for the job: the villa's owner and housekeeper (your name, party size and dates, so they can welcome you); Stripe (card payments, when online payment is switched on); IONOS (our web host and email); Web3Forms (delivers the contact form to our inbox); and the Turkish authorities for guest registration. Maps are drawn with OpenStreetMap tiles, videos play from YouTube's privacy-enhanced (no-cookie) player, and exchange rates come from open.er-api.com and frankfurter.app — those requests carry no personal details.

How long we keep it

Booking records are kept for as long as Turkish tax and accounting law requires. Enquiries that don't lead to a booking are deleted within two years. Anti-spam checks keep only a scrambled fingerprint of your connection, never the address itself.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data-protection law (GDPR) and Türkiye's KVKK you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to pass it to you in a portable form. Email info@bookkalkan.com and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with our answer you can complain to your local data-protection authority.

Cookies and storage

We use no advertising or tracking cookies, so there's no cookie banner. The site remembers a few choices in your own browser:

• matt-and-co.locale and matt-and-co.currency — your language and currency (browser storage), with an mc_lang cookie so pages open in your language.
• mc_lang_suggested — so we only suggest your language once.
• book-kalkan.favourites — the villas on your shortlist. It never leaves your browser unless you share the link.
• bk_preview, bk_preview_ui and bk_admin — only set for our own staff when testing payments or signed in to the admin.

You can clear any of these from your browser settings at any time; the site will simply forget your choices.

If we change how we handle your information we'll update this page. Last updated October 2026.
